Ina Schimmeroth, LL.M. (London), University of Hamburg

ChainGE Lab Research Fellow

Ina is a fully qualified German lawyer and a doctoral candidate at the University of Hamburg, where she is a member of the AMBSL Graduate School of Law. She studied law at the University of Freiburg, Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul, and the Free University of Berlin, specializing in labor law. Ina obtained an LL.M. in Transnational Law from King’s College London. Her main research interests focus on the transformations of labor law, particularly in the context of sustainability and the interconnections among national, supranational, and international levels within this field.

At ChainGE Lab, Ina's research focuses on the role of worker participation in the implementation of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG). Building on expert interviews and other sources, she aims to critically examine the role and impact of worker participation in this context while also addressing the central question of the future potential of these recently established structures. In addition to examining legal instruments from German labor law, she explores the prospects of European and international framework agreements.
