Marta Zbucka-Gargas, PhD, L.LM. E MBA
Marta is an expert in supply chain management, ESG and corporate due diligence, with over 15 years of experience in management and business advisory. She combines extensive managerial experience with legal expertise, with a particular focus on labour law, responsible business conduct, supply chain regulation and corporate compliance.
She is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk. Her academic and research work focuses on labour rights, ESG, responsible business conduct, due diligence and the evolving regulatory framework governing sustainable and responsible supply chains.
Before entering academia, she served as a Procurement Director, overseeing procurement operations exceeding EUR 230 million annually. This experience provides her with a practical perspective on the governance of supply chains, procurement processes and the implementation of regulatory requirements within complex business organisations.
She also works as a parliamentary expert and advises organisations on the implementation of EU sustainability and due diligence requirements, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). Her work focuses particularly on the intersection of business responsibility, human and labour rights, and supply chain governance. She designs and implements ESG and due diligence strategies, risk-mapping frameworks and compliance systems tailored to the specific needs of organisations.
Her work combines academic research with practical experience, with a particular interest in how legal and regulatory frameworks can strengthen the protection of workers’ rights and responsible business practices across increasingly complex and fragmented supply chains.
