Victor Yengle
Victor Yengle, Sociology PhD student at the University of Virginia
Victor Yengle (he/him) is a PhD student in Sociology at the University of Virginia. His research explores labor migration, social movements, global value chains, and development.
Before beginning his doctoral studies, Victor served as Associate Director of the Fair Food Standards Council (FFSC), where he oversaw the implementation of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers’ Fair Food Program. In this role, he led the FFSC’s auditing team, conducted in-depth interviews with U.S. farmworkers and guest workers, and investigated complex labor and human rights violations.
He holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Florida and a Master’s in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, where he specialized in collective representation, strategic corporate research, and labor organizing strategies.
Victor Yengle’s research explores labor migration, farmworker organizing, and social movements, analyzing how economic and institutional structures shape collective action. His work examines worker-led strategies within shifting labor regimes and global value chains.
